Brennan Shanks

Brennan Shanks has always had an innate gift for connections. A skilled communicator who is known for his resourcefulness and positive attitude, Brennan has a talent for introducing those who come across his path to individuals and resources they can benefit from the most.

A resident of Venice, Brennan loves to help others integrate into the Westside lifestyle – from Malibu to Silicon Beach and beyond. Clients appreciate his ability to help them navigate the ever-changing communities and neighborhoods, while he connects them to opportunities in a relevant and meaningful way.

Detail-oriented and a skilled negotiator, Brennan has worked in the real estate industry over the last decade. He comes to Compass from Zeus Living, a “unicorn” in Silicon Valley that focuses on residential temporary housing. A natural leader and highly proactive, Brennan built and led a team of 10 salespeople at Zeus Living, where he successfully closed over $10M of business in his first year.

Prior to that, Brennan worked for commercial real estate leader Cresa, advising clients on real estate assignment, strategic planning, contract negotiation, market research, project financing/management, and relocation services. Brennan transitioned to residential real estate as it allows him to leverage his sales ability and business skills to help people either buy their perfect home, begin an investment portfolio, or sell a home for new opportunities.

Throughout his career, he has established strong relationships within the high-tech, real estate, and entertainment industries, while gaining keen insights into the lifestyle needs of its members. Brennan began his business career working with one of the world’s leading advisory and accounting firms, Ernst & Young. He worked in E&Y's Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services (FIDS) practice, handling many Fortune 100 companies, analyzing corporate fraud and mitigating against anti-money laundering practices for the world’s largest commercial banks. Detail-oriented, he gained experience in the areas of compliance, loan file review, and insurance claims services.

Brennan completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Studies at Drew University, receiving magna cum laude honors while playing on the collegiate lacrosse and cross country teams. Shortly after graduation, He relocated to Los Angeles to work for E&Y.

Brennan is an active member of the Westside community and enjoys the Southern California lifestyle, sports and fitness. He is a Dive Master, a surfer and participates in triathlons and marathons.
